This coffee was sourced by Osito and they began working with ASPROCAFÉ in 2022, with the intention of Páez becoming their fourth major area of focus in Colombia.

Páez is a particularly difficult area in which to work because of its proximity to the port of Buenaventura and the notable drug trafficking in the area. Osito has a purchasing point in La Plata (on the border of Cauca) producers are easily able to deliver coffee without putting any of the local Osito team in harm's way. That being said the members of the association have their own cooperatively-owned bodega inside the Cohetando reservation where dry parchment can be collected prior to delivery to Osito.

The producers who make up ASPROCAFÉ are largely of indigenous descent and their community surrounds the sacred peak of Chumbipe where few outsiders have ever been permitted to visit.

The potential for quality in Páez is limitless and the indigenous folk of Cohetando simply need committed buyers like Osito to take it to the next level.

This coffee is a perfect fit four our green-labelled bag, showcasing just how good a well grown, well processed coffee can taste whilst still having a flavour profile that works across brew methods and is a perfect daily drinker!
