This is only the fourth year of production for this Washing Station, the third year in a row that we've had coffee from it.
Unlike most producers in Ethiopia, Telila lots are built based on cherry delivered on a given day. Mike and his team are meticulous with their quality control, even storing their parchment coffee in sealed bags - a first for Ethiopia that required governmental approval.
As many classic Ethiopian washed coffees, Telila Washed has lots of bright citrus notes and a sparkling acidity that has us in mind of lemonade. Along with a more floral note that alongside the citrus has us reminded of bergamot and a stone fruit quality that's like peach. An amazing cup of coffee any time of the year, but particularly the perfect pick me up for darker winter days.
