Franklin Madrid is a third-generation coffee producer who inherited his family's farm, El Sauce. This farm was once part of a collection of several properties that had been carefully managed by both his grandfather and father, each contributing to the development of the family’s reputation for exceptional coffee.
Coffee produced at El Sauce won the Cup of Excellence (COE) competition in 2008, helping to build, on the legacy of his family's work, a reputation quality and innovation. Today, he continues to innovate on the farm, planting newer, more experimental coffee varieties such as Pacamara. These efforts are aimed at diversifying the flavour profiles of his coffee, further expanding the unique and complex tastes that El Sauce is known for producing.
This Pacas is big and sweet in the cup, with black grape acidity alongside the sweetness and full-bodied cola notes making this work equally well as a filter or espresso brew.
