This coffee was grown on Priory Farm, a family owned estate run by the Muge family.
Situated on the slopes of Nandi Hills, between Kericho and Nandi County, the 60 acre farm benefits from a unique terroir characterised by extremely hot days and very chilly nights. This distinct climate is influenced by the breeze flowing from Valley in Kericho County.
Priory Farm is dedicated to cultivating the varieties Ruiru 11 and Batian, with Ruiru 11 covering 40 acres and Batian covering 20 acres. This Priory Farm washed coffee is an exclusive offering for Omwani.
The exceptional geographical conditions combined with the Muge family's dedicated agronomy practices contribute to the delectable profile of coffee produced at Priory Farm.
The estate also prides itself on its own dry mill, making it one of the more unique operations in Kenya. It boasts unrivalled vertical integration and dedication to quality at all stages of the production process.

Red cherries are picked and freshly sorted before pulping where over-ripe and under-ripe beans are handpicked and separated before processing. Coffees are pulped and allowed to ferment for 36-48 hours.
The fermented coffee is washed with clean running water, soaked in clean water and then dried for 18 days to retain about 11.5% of moisture. Dried parchment coffee is stored in field warehouse until it is transported for further processing to Addis Ababa. The parchment coffee is processed in dry processing warehouse to remove the husks and the clean beans are packaged in bags for export.
